Ciprian is very passionate about Android development, staying on top of the latest advancement in the field thus being able to develop new and innovative solutions to problems he encounters in his daily work. We sat down with him to talk about the importance of teamwork and collaboration when trying to reach common goals, some key attributes that will ensure success in the field as well as his career plans.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I started working with Android when I got my university degree, it was love at first sight. I have a strong background in Java and Android development, as well as experience with various tools and frameworks used in the mobile development process.
In my free time, I enjoy staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements in the field.
I also have a passion for photography and I love to travel to the most remote places in the world whenever I can make time. When I am not working, learning or exploring new places, I like to spend my time reading or going to the gym.
What is your favorite tech?
In terms of technology in general, it’s hard to have a favorite as it is constantly evolving and improving. It is important to stay up to date with the latest advancements in order to be able to develop new and innovative solutions to problems.
But personally I love working with Android (lately especially in Kotlin), but sometimes also in React-Native or Flutter, if cross platform is needed.
What is a typical workday for you?
A typical workday for me as an Android developer involves a mix of coding, collaboration, and problem-solving.
I start my day by drinking a giant coffee while checking my email and prioritizing any urgent tasks or deadlines. Most days we have morning calls (stand-ups), so by the time we are finished I am ready to dive into coding or any challenges the day brings.
Throughout the day, I collaborate with my team, discussing progress and brainstorming solutions to any technical challenges we may be facing. In the evenings we have an end of day meeting with everyone in which we discuss the progress we made up until that point. After that I like to review my progress and plan for the next day, as well as keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments.

I chose to work at AscentCore because I was impressed by its core values: Integrity, Relationships and Results (my values are very much similar), also because of the lovely bunch of professionals I met during my interview process. Last but not least, I very much enjoy the project I was assigned to and I feel grateful to work with such a skilled full team of mobile developers.

My favorite AscentCore value is integrity. Integrity is important because it is the foundation of trust and honesty, which I consider critical in building and maintaining healthy relationships.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your role?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my role as an Android developer is the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Throughout my career, I’ve come to understand that the best solutions and outcomes are achieved when everyone works together towards a common goal, and they also enjoy it while doing so.
I’ve learned to pay attention to other people’s perspectives and ideas, and to value the contributions of others. This has not only resulted in better outcomes for the projects I’ve worked on, but it has also made the development process much more enjoyable and fulfilling. I’ve also learned that staying open-minded, continuously learning and adapting to changes are key to success in this field.
What’s next in your career journey?
In my career journey as an Android developer, I am constantly striving to improve my skills and take on new challenges. I am passionate about staying at the forefront of the latest technology trends and advancements, and I’m always looking for opportunities to broaden my expertise. In the future, I also want to improve my leadership skills because that is how I feel I’ll be able to offer even more value for everyone.
I am also interested in exploring new technologies and development approaches, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Ultimately, my goal is to continue to grow as a developer, to make a meaningful impact in the industry, and to help drive innovation in the field.
