Tell us more about what makes a designer „tick” in his own personal time

Learning and following for inspiration – I often spend time exploring new trends, techniques, and technologies related to the field(workshops, browsing design websites, reading books, following big design creators, etc)

Personal projects – love working on personal projects.

Networking – I like to engage in social media discussions and topics about design. Networking with peers can offer both inspiration and opportunities for collaboration.

Hobbies – Sport it’s the second most important thing after breathing 🙂

What led you on the path to UI/UX?

My path to UI/UX was a natural evolution from my experiences in sales and front-end development. The five years I spent in sales gave me invaluable insights into customer needs and expectations, teaching me the importance of empathetic and user-focused solutions. Transitioning to front-end development, I developed a passion for creating intuitive and visually appealing interfaces. This combined with my strong understanding of business dynamics, honed in sales, and a personal interest in building digital products, naturally led me to UI/UX design. It’s the perfect field where I can blend my skills and interests to create impactful digital experiences.

What do you use for inspiration in a typical workday?

For daily inspiration, I blend my past experiences in sales and development with keeping up-to-date on new design trends and following big designers. I also regularly read design-related blog articles. This combination of practical experience, industry insights, and continuous learning helps fuel my creativity and keeps my ideas fresh and relevant.

Which is your favorite AscentCore value and why?

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your time here at AscentCore?

Good opportunities are just around the corner if you dare to pursue them.

What’s next in your career journey? What skills are you looking forward to developing?

My biggest goal is to maintain the level of motivation I have today towards learning new things, and to continue feeling as passionate about my work as I do now (“If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life”).

Related to skills I’m looking forward to developing, I aim to focus on enhancing my management and leadership skills. This will be essential in elevating my career to the next level.

Where Emotions Lie Inside a Neural Network: A CT Scan of LLM Hidden States

Large language models respond to emotionally charged inputs with contextually appropriate outputs, but the mechanism by which they represent, propagate, and modulate emotional tone through their internal layers remains poorly understood. Do emotions “live” in specific layers? Is the signal carried by the attention mechanism, the MLP, or the residual stream itself? And when a model is instructed to be a “helpful assistant,” does its internal representation remain emotionally neutral, or does it mirror the user’s emotional state?
